Steven John Uffens\n\nSteven John Uffens passed away November 22, 2022, at\nthe age of 77, at his home in Stansbury Park, Utah.\nSteven was born in Alhambra, California to John and\nMadeline Uffens.\nHe met his wife Jean Uffens and they were married in\nElko, Nevada. They spent many wonderful years camping\nand traveling.\nSteve attended grade schools in the Glendale area and\nSouth High School in Salt Lake City. He then joined the\nU.S. Navy at the age of 18 and was later called to serve in\nthe Vietnam war. When he returned to Utah he did many\ntrade jobs and later became a machinist/tool maker at the\nTooele Army Depot. He retired from the Tooele Army\nDepot in 2008.\nHe was a little league baseball coach, a volunteer at the\nTooele County Search and Rescue and a Reserve Officer\nat Grantsville City Police Department. He enjoyed serving\nhis community. He was very protective of his family and\nfriends. He loved spending time outdoors fishing and\nsnowmobiling.\nSteve is survived by his wife Jean Uffens, his children Corey\nUffens, Matt (Angie) Mander, Carol Autry, and Vince\n(Josephine) Mander. He has 12 grandchildren and 7\ngreat-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.\n\nA celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Burial\nwill take place in Stansbury Park, Utah.
