Sherden J. Smith August 1,1929 - October 1,2010 Sherden J. Smith, 81, loving husband, father, grandpa and brother, passed away on October 1, 2010. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Sherman Oscar and Olive Truscott Smith. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War. He loved his family and he loved sports of all kinds. On April 1, 1955 he married Phylis Anderson in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked and retired from Dugway Proving Ground. He was preceded in death by his parents Sherman and Olive; and one brother, Earl Sherman; He is survived by wife Phylis and four children: Kenneth Lynn (Carolyn) Smith; Michael J. Smith; Kathleen Smith Roth; and Matthew Ray (Jennifer) Smith; sister: Betty; and two brothers: Allen Ray and Oliver; He and Phylis were blessed with nine grandchildren: Steve, Randi, Joe, Rachel, Catherine, Lindsey, Travis, Veronica and Olivia; and eight great grandchildren. At his request, graveside rites will be held at the Tooele City Cemetery Wed Oct 6, 2010 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held at Tate Mortuary 9:30-10:30AM prior to the Graveside service.
