Tooele, Utah
Scot Clifford Pyne, age 61, passed away at his home in Tooele, Utah, on November 4, 2024. He was the 4th son born to Mervin Clifford and VaNeta Tayor Pyne, on June 22, 1963, in Provo, Utah.
Scot was a loving child. He required surgery as an infant and became very close to his mother. Scot spent most of his early childhood in Dugway, Utah. Living on an Army base as a young boy was a dream. He played GI Joes and was able to roam freely and explore and play with his pals. The family moved to Tooele when he was 12. He attended Tooele Jr. High and participated in basketball and other sports. He rode bikes with his buddies and enjoyed life in a small town. He made lifelong friendships with his neighborhood friends both in Dugway and Tooele, Clint, Rod, Danny, Barry, Rusty and so many others and held those relationships dear to his heart. He attended Tooele High School where he played basketball, football, track and field, and competed in State High Jump. At 6’2”, he always wanted to play college football but had trouble with his knees so had to put that dream to rest.
Scot had custody of his three beautiful children from his first marriage from the time they were tiny, Brandi Marie, Dustin Scot, and Amber Lynn, and worked hard to support them. He then married Tammy Moore and added her two children, Joey and Cheyenne to his family. Even after Scot and Tammy divorced, they remained friends, sharing responsibility to take care of their family of five children and many grandchildren.
After being alone for a few years, Scot met his first love Crystal Nash (Anderson), who was his high-school sweetheart. They were so blessed to have found each other again and were soon married. Scot enjoyed the happiest three years of his life with her until God took him home.
Scot had many jobs. He worked in a grocery store, as a security guard in construction, and he loved working with, and eventually became the owner of MVP Enterprises and Pyne’s Chem Dry. Scot loved working with and alongside his father for many years.
Scot was a Broncos, San Francisco 49ers, and Jazz fan. He loved watching football and basketball, enjoyed his backyard talking with friends and family, and loved his neighbors and his work associates.
Preceded in death by his parents Mervin and VaNeta Pyne, son Dustin Scot Pyne, grandson Dayton Pyne, and brother David Pyne.
Scot was also preceded in death by his faithful companion “Tank” who was his Golden Retriever for over 12 years. As soon as Scot would arrive home from work, he would be greeted by his “Bud” who would be patiently waiting for the pat on the head, his Vitabone, and a walk out back to run around. Tank traveled everywhere with Scot and then with Scot and Crystal when they were joined together.
Survived by his wife Crystal Pyne, daughter Brandi Pyne-Smith, daughter Amber (Gordon Wesley) Cronk, son Joey Nieser, daughter Cheyenne Nieser, brother Roland (Holly) Pyne, brother Craig Pyne, and sister Stacey (Derek) Nigh. He is also survived by his newly acquired family, father and mother-in-law Curtis and Shawnee Nash, brother-in-law Kelly Nash, step-daughter Jennifer Anderson, step-son Travis (Elizabeth) Anderson, step-son Nathan Anderson, step-sons Curtis Vincent and Trevor Kaplan, step-daughter Samantha Vincent, step-son Zachary (Angel) Jaramillo, step-daughter Steffanie (Zach) Martineau, and step-son Joshua (Stephanie) Anderson. He is also survived by his best friend Clint Leatham.
Between Scot and Crystal, he is survived by over 30 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
