Paul Drew Scown, returned home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 26, 2024. Paul was born on July 11, 1939, in Lehi, Utah, and dedicated his life to his family and faith in Jesus Christ. Known for his calm demeanor and warm laughter, Paul's humble spirit and unwavering loyalty were the cornerstones of his character. Paul got up early each morning, whether to go to work during the week, or to serve in the Salt Lake Temple on Saturdays. His love for music was evident in his powerful singing voice, and he found immense joy in reading. Paul was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Paul served Jesus Christ by serving a mission in South Korea and holding various callings throughout his life. Paul was so proud when his grandson followed in his footsteps to also serve a mission in South Korea. Paul had a deep love for the temple, which was evident by him serving as a temple worker in the Salt Lake temple for 25 years. Paul married the love of his life, Edith Gibb Scown in the Salt Lake Temple on November 16, 1978, for eternity. One of Paul’s happiest days was when he finally had a son to raise at the age of 42. Paul was always a Dad that loved being the father to his only child. Paul lived in many parts of the country, including Tooele, Utah; Montana; Tennessee; North Salt Lake, Utah; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Lehi, Utah. Paul is survived by his wife Edith; his son Drew; his daughter-in-law, Chanelle; his grandchildren, Paul (19), Eliza (17), Brigham (15), and Sam (13); his sister Elaine Maclean (John) and his sister Rosalie Seamons (Fred). Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Alta Scown; his brothers Champ (Shirley), Vince (Melba), and LaMar (LaRetta) Scown; and his sister Gloria Finch (Dennis).
