Patrick Antry Obituary (1953 - 2022)

Patrick Ollie Antry (‘Chief Pat’), age 69, left us unexpectedly from heart failure on December 20, 2022, and we are devastated at his loss. Pat was born in Salt Lake City on October 2, 1953, to parents Kenneth and Sue Antry. He spent most of his school years on Dugway Proving Ground and after high school graduation studied and worked as a machinist in Salt Lake City. He then joined the Dugway Fire Department in April 1972 and retired as Fire Chief in January 2006 when he lived in Terra. He loved everything about his job and could never wait to show up for his shifts. He moved to Tooele City in 2014 then to Pine Canyon in 2016 and has been here ever since. He loved shotgun sports of all kinds, flying his remote-control airplanes and helicopters, and racing the RC trucks with his grandson, Gavin. He was also a long-time member of the Tooele Elks Lodge #1673. He loved working with his hands in his shop both doing wood projects or welding anything anyone asked of him. He was a ‘helper’ every day to anyone who needed it, friends and strangers alike. His first greeting on any phone call was "How Ya Doin?' He was currently employed by the Skull Valley Band of Goshutes/Skull Valley Health Clinic/Warrior Spirit Recovery Center as a driver and staff member and treasured all the time spent with clients and staff learning so much about addiction and recovery. He just recently received his certification for Case Management and was so proud of it. Preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Sue Antry. He was married to Ruth Ann Huston and then divorced. He is survived by their sons, Patrick John Antry (PJ), Daniel George Antry, Calvin Andrew Ashworth (daughter Mavis), his brothers K. Michael Antry (Jeanette) and Mark L. Antry (Lane), niece Kimberly Antry. Also survived by current wife and best friend, Linda Marie O’Neill, his ‘bonus’ daughter Amber Maree Ferris and his beloved grandson, Gavin Cody Gibb. Viewing and visitation will be at Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main Street in Tooele and is scheduled for Tuesday December 27 from 6-8pm and Wednesday December 28 from 9:30 to 10:45. A short program will follow at the mortuary, Wednesday, 11am, and then the family will go to Salt Lake City for burial at Elysian Gardens.
