Howard's employment at BYU moved the family from Tooele to Provo in 1968. Margie worked at Utah Valley Hospital in the Emergency Room and also in the Engineering Department as a secretary. Despite many health challenges, Margie loved life, loved her family, and loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She is a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings in her ward, including as a Relief Society President twice. She had a testimony of visiting teacher and served as a visiting teacher her entire adult life. Her greatest gift, was the gift of charity. Mom said that she never met a stranger, she had a very positive attitude, and a great sense of humor. She is a very good cook, a wonderful housekeeper, and along with Howard, helped create some fun traditions and great memories with her family for birthdays and holidays. She especially loved the Christmas season and all that it stood for.
