M. Dean Stringham “Coach” 1927-2015 Our Dad, Grandpa, Great-grandpa and Husband M. Dean Stringham peacefully graduated from this life on March 1, 2015. Dean was born on April 19, 1927 to Mary and George Stringham in Bingham Canyon, Utah where he was raised. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He attended Utah State University where he played football and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. While there he married Barbara Lamb on February 16, 1949 in the Logan LDS Temple. Later they had two children Nancy and Bob. Dean was an extraordinary teacher and coach. His career spanned 37 years where he influenced for good numerous young lives. He taught and coached at Hinckley, Delta, Tooele, Jordan, Brighton and Wendover finishing his career where his heart was, Tooele High School. Dean was a basketball referee for the UHSAA, WAC and the Big Sky Conferences. His was passionate for the hobby he enjoyed, golfing with the guys. Dean was proud of his family and was ever present at their dance recitals and sporting events for both his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Lynn (Wayne) Day, son Robert Dean (Sue) Stringham grandchildren: Colby Robert (Stephanie) Stringham, Emily (Craig) Chilton, Alexander Dean Stringham and four great-grandchildren: Judah, Keller, Sammy Dean and Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Barbara who passed in 1990. He then found wonderful companionship marrying Rosalie Pritchett Chilton who passed away in 1993 later marrying Marjorie Powell who passed away in 2009. Memorial services will be held on Saturday March 7, 2015 at 12 Noon at the LDS Chapel: 1100 East Skyline Drive Tooele, Utah. Friends may call at Tate Mortuary: 110 So Main St. Tooele, Utah from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday March 6, 2015 and from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the Memorial Service. Internment: Tooele City Cemetery.
