LORIN EUGENE MATTINSON July 8, 1934-September 15, 2015 Lorin Eugene Mattinson, 81, left us on September 15, 2015 at home with his family by his side. He was born to Rhea Cleon Taylor and Lorin A. Mattinson on July 8,1934 in Salem, UT. He joined the army in 1960, where he proudly served for 3 years. He later met the love of his life Martha Jessen, they were married on October 31,1960 in Fort Ord, CA. They moved to Tooele, UT where "Gene" worked at the Tooele Army Depot as a truck driver for 41 years, where he retired. "Gene" loved anything golf, if he wasn't home watching it you could find him on the course playing it. You could always tell when he was spending a lot of time on the course because he would have this sock tan line that you couldn't tell whether his white socks were on or off. He also loved fishing down home at Otter Creek or Piute, where he and Martha would sit for hours catching fish after fish. "Gene" is survived by; his heart and soul for 55 years, Martha. His sister Marilyn(Kenny)Engstrom. His five children Sharlene(Perry), Ron(Korey), Martha (Ann) Strickland, Audrey(Kim),Lorin Kay(Joy) Mattinson, 12 grandchildren, and 46 greatgrandchildren. Last but certainly not least his dog Mitzy whom was really his 6th child. Preceded in death by; his father Lorin, mother Rhea Cleon, step-mother, step-brother, and one granddaughter. "Gene" will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
