Our handsome dad, Wayne Hodge, passed away in Tooele, Utah on Sunday, April 23, 2023. Dad was born in Los Angeles, California on March 10, 1943, to Betty and Glenn Hodge. Dad lived a charmed life while growing up in Westchester, CA with European sportscars, surfing, traveling, fishing, sporting events, and the Lake Elizabeth Ranch Club. Dad joined the Marines, where he was stationed in Hawaii -then served an LDS mission in London, England. Back in California, dad met a British bombshell named Christine at a church event for singles ready to mingle; they married in the Los Angeles Temple six weeks later! Dad and mom settled in Irvine, California and had four good-lookin’ kids: Brett (Marlo), Cameron (Emily), Deveron (Nick), Ember (Tai). Dad and mom pulled up roots and moved to Sandy, Utah where they had another good-lookin’ kid named, Faelene. Growing up with Wayne as a dad was a wild ride and adventure! Dad took us hunting, fishing, Dodgers games, horseback riding in Mexico, exploring Vasquez Rocks, camping, target shooting, skiing, riding dirt bikes, and Disneyland. Dad taught us how to supe up cars, catch sand crabs, blowup a lifeguard tower with M-80s, be a smart a$$, build a winning Pinewood Derby car, bodysurf, take pictures, hotwire anything (the boys learned this), and love unconditionally. We want to give Harmony Home Health our heartfelt thanks. Dad’s funeral will be Saturday, April 29th 11am-12pm at the LDS chapel in Tooele, 132 N 570 E; family, friends, and curious onlookers may visit the chapel 9:30-10:45am. Funeral arrangements made through Tate Mortuary in Tooele.
