Kevin Johnson

–

Tooele, Utah

We are gathered here to remember and celebrate the life of our beloved Kevin Johnson, born on December 4, 1954, in Payson, Utah. Kevin was a resilient spirit that always had a twinkle in his eye and a ready joke on his lips. As the saying goes, "A day without laughter is a day wasted." Kevin wasted very few days. His charismatic personality was a magnet that attracted people everywhere he went, and it was a common occurrence for him to bump into someone he knew, even out of state. Perhaps this was due to his regular morning routine of purchasing a coke from Holiday, a ritual that often led to unexpected reunions.

Kevin was thoughtful in his actions and loyal to a fault. He dedicated his professional life to handling toxic materials at TAD and served as the Commander of Tooele County Search and Rescue, a duty he took great pride in. His thoughtful nature was embodied not only in his work but also in his hobbies. He was an avid coin collector, a music enthusiast, a bicycle repair expert, and a Bingo lover. However, his most remarkable achievement was his contribution to the health sector, for which he was awarded for donating an impressive 30 gallons of blood. His resilience was exemplified in his role as an EMT, and his loyalty resonated in his unwavering dedication to the Utah Jazz.

Kevin's life was illuminated by his love for his wife, Mary Ann Johnson, and their beautiful family. He was the proud father of Kellie Korth and Bryan Johnson, and the doting grandfather to Mallorie, Lola, Abby, and Erin. Kevin's siblings, Randy Johnson and his wife Deborah, Peggy Woodson, Lisa Evans, and brother-in-law Todd, along with sister-in-law Becky Johnson and many nephews and nieces, will hold his love and laughter in their hearts forever.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Ellen Wilson and Jere Johnson, and his brother, Jere. A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at a later date. In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." As we remember Kevin, let's honor his memory by sharing our favorite stories, anecdotes, and photographs of him on the memorial page. After all, Kevin's life was not just about the number of years he lived, but about the life he put into those years. His resilience, charisma, thoughtfulness, and loyalty will forever be etched in our hearts.
