Katelin Jordan

–

New Harmony, Utah

Katelin Rose Jordan, beloved daughter, sister, niece, and friend passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, after a brief illness. She was 37 years old.

Katelin was born in Austin, Texas, on May 27, 1989, but lived most of her life in Mountain View, California, and had recently moved to New Harmony, Utah, with her parents. Two words that describe Katelin are “stubborn” and “fighter” and she was both from the moment of her birth to the moment of her passing. But she was also kind and generous and had a soft spot for supporting those in need, including those who she met online.

Katelin faced many challenges throughout her life. School was particularly challenging, but Katelin persevered, attending National University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in General Studies, with concentrations in Communication and Sociology and later completing a Certificate Program in E-learning and Instructional Design through UC Irvine. She spent most of her working life in Learning Experience, Program Management and Learning Technologies where she had a proven track record of building comprehensive and innovative training programs.

Katelin had many personal interests and was a voracious reader of online content, particularly information regarding medical conditions. And she had an almost insatiable appetite for cooking shows, websites, and recipes. Until her health declined, she loved spending Sunday mornings baking and cooking with her father. She loved being a cat mom to her cats Sage and JP. And, last but certainly not least, Katelin loved the ocean and marine life.

Katelin didn’t have a lot of friends but was fiercely supportive of the friendships that she had. Given her physical limitations of the past few years, Katelin's online and messaging relationships were extremely important to her, particularly during the past few difficult years. Those relationships were of great support to Katelin and she was very appreciative.

Katelin is survived by her parents, John and Susan Jordan, brother and brother-in-law Christopher and Benjamin Jordan, maternal grandfather James Melsa, paternal grandparents John and Anne Jordan, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Katherine Melsa, and cousins Jordan Leach and Patrick Nolan.

Katelin's final wishes were to be cremated using aquamation and then have her ashes incorporated into an artificial reef. There won't be any services or celebration of life gathering. Anyone wishing to remember Katelin through a memorial contribution should consider donating in her memory to cake4kids.org, pacificwhale.org, aapd.com, or your local SPCA.
