Josephine Garcia

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Josephine B. Garcia on January 9, 2025. Josephine passed peacefully at her home at the age of 96. Josie was a beacon of kindness, emotional support, and had an unwavering faith in Christ. She leaves behind a legacy to be cherished by all.

Born on May 28, 1928, in Taos, New Mexico, Josie led a rich life devoted to her family, community, and faith. As a member of St. Marguerites Parish, she was always there to support the needs of many. She also found fulfillment in her successful career at the Tooele Army Depot.

Josie's life was marked by her unwavering love, support and faith; reflecting her commitment to making a positive impact on those who knew her. All were welcome in her home and many people considered her family.

She is survived by her children; Tessie Duran (John), Joseph Garcia, Philbert Garcia (Kimberly), Elaine Burke (Rick), Ronnie Garcia (Brenda), David Garcia (Aileen), along with 16 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great-grandchild and Brother Henry Brito, Sisters Betty B. Quintana and Berniece Contretas. Josephine was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Garcia and sons Rudy and Charlie. Also, her grandsons, Breed Jeffries & Leandro Aragon, her parents, Jose & Maxine Brito, and brothers and sisters, Aurora B. Fernandez, Ben E. Brito, Nelson Brito, Adela Mondragon, Eloida Vargas, Albert Brito.

Services will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at St Marguerites Parish in Tooele, Utah. Viewing 10:00 A.M. Rosary at 10:30 A.M. Mass at 11:00 A.M. Graveside interment thereafter followed by a Celebration of Life back at at St Marguerites Parish at 1:00 P.M. All are welcome to celebrate her life. Let us remember her with the love for each other, the way she loved us all.

She will be deeply missed, though her influence will continue to be felt throughout our lives.
