John William "Bill" Wright 1933 - 2012 John William "Bill" Wright passed away April 26, 2012 at the age of 78. Bill was born on June 19, 1933 to Robert Russell and Eva Butler Wright in Salt Lake City. He graduated from Grantsville High School and enlisted in the US Army in 1953 and served 2 years during the Korean Conflict. He managed a Phillips 66 gas station for 6 years and was employed with Mag Corp and retired from Tooele Army Depot. Bill studied Electronics at the University of Utah and he was also an avid Ute's fan. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held various positions over the years. He was very involved in Civil and Social activities such as the Bit & Spur, Senior Citizens Center, and the Veteran of Foreign Wars. Bill loved riding his horses and spending time at his special retreat in Wyoming fishing and relaxing in the Great Outdoors. He is survived by his sister Colleen Sheets, brother Larry (Allison) Thorpe, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Chad, his parents, brother Bob, brother in law Don Sheets, and special friends Clara Walk and Jeanine Russell. Bill's passion in life was to serve and help others and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grantsville 3rd Ward, 428 So Hale St. Family and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tate Mortuary, 110 So Main St in Tooele, and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
