Jo Ann Tilton, 79, passed from this life Tuesday, November 9, 2021, after a short battle with Covid 19, at a Tooele, Utah hospital. She was born August 27, 1942, in Richmond, California to Margery and Elton Wallin. She was the oldest daughter, followed by David and Sally Petersen. She grew up in northern California, went to nursing school in Oakland, then married her sweetheart, Dennis, in the Los Angeles Temple June 28, 1963. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Dennis raised their 6 children in Fremont, California, for the first 20 years, then Bellingham and Pt. Angeles, Washington. Jo Ann loved camping with her family, gardening and attacking home projects. In Bellingham she learned how to be a true country girl. She raised animals: lambs, goats, pigs, chickens, and geese. She loved her orchard and her huge walnut tree. She even had a spinning wheel and felted her own wool. She loved living in the Northwest, especially enjoying the ferry rides between islands. Jo Ann was a registered nurse, but later worked as a dental assistant; a job she loved most. She also spent time as a hospice nurse. She loved to serve in the scouting program at church. Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Kathleen Greenwood (and Steve) of Tooele, Utah; daughter, Lorraine Ocon (Henry) of Tooele, Utah; daughter, Joy of Sacramento, California; son, Jeffrey (Heather) of Custer, Washington; son, Daniel (Rebecca) of Everson, Washington; daughter, Holly of Tooele, Utah, fourteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Wallin.
