Tooele, Utah

Jenée Felt Ferguson Lewis, 87, of Tooele, Utah, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, surrounded by her family in Tooele, following two severe falls.

Jenée was born on March 3, 1939, in Ogden, Utah, to Beth Jensen Felt and Paul Felt. She grew up in Salt Lake City alongside her siblings, David Felt (Jennifer), Carolee Felt Wangsgaard (Michael), and Russel Felt (Susan).

Jenée graduated from Utah State University in 1961 with a degree in Chemistry and used her degree as a Medical Technologist in hospitals in Utah and Nebraska. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and remained an active alumna throughout her life.

In 1961, Jenée and Donald Leon Ferguson married and were sealed in the Logan Utah Temple. They had two daughters, Lisa Ferguson Lozano and Julie Ferguson Smith (Michael). They shared 27 years of marriage and made their home in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Jenée was an avid Husker fan and regularly attended football games. She was deeply involved in the Lincoln community and devoted much of her time to community organizations and the arts. She was a member of Hillcrest Country Club where she loved playing tennis, was active in the Junior League of Lincoln, and was a member of the Lincoln Symphony Guild. She also served on the board of the Sheldon Art Gallery and was president of the Haymarket Art Gallery. Donald passed away in 1988.

In 1995, Jenée married Gordon Lewis and relocated to Tooele, Utah. She embraced her new life with Gordon and his six children: Mike Lewis (Tammy), Julie Smith (Kelly), Kyle Lewis (Laurie), Tom Lewis (Jeanie), Sheri Wheat (Warren), and Jeff Lewis (Heidi).

Jenée especially loved being a grandmother to her 31 grandchildren: Nico and Teddy Lozano (Lisa); Jackson, Benjamin, Andrew, and Alex Smith (Julie); Harper, Cameron, Breck, McKay, and Taylor (Mike); Brielle, Kacen, Dalton, and Kyler (Julie); Laken, Jade, Kelsey, Ali, and Peyton (Kyle); Whitney, Madison, Porter, and Presley (Tom); Wilsynn, Jackson, and Carter (Sheri); and Tori, Brooklyn, Aysha, and Crew (Jeff). Gordon and Jenée were also blessed with 40 great-grandchildren (plus two on the way).

Jenée and Gordon enjoyed tending to their large garden together, and Jenée took great pleasure in canning the fruits of their labor and sharing them with friends and family.

Jenée was a lifelong learner, who organized numerous book clubs and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with high school students in the Tooele area as a substitute teacher.

A lifelong and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jenée served in many callings throughout her life. Among them, she served as a Stake Seminary Coordinator where she developed a curriculum for students with disabilities. She also served missions in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, and later, with Gordon, in the Columbus, Ohio Mission. She was passionate about genealogy and was an avid member of the Utah Daughters of Pioneers.

One of Jenée’s greatest joys was serving as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple for sixteen years. She also served as a docent at the Church History Museum, where she enjoyed sharing her love of the Church and its history with others.

Jenée will be remembered for her vivacious personality, her love of learning and the arts, her devotion to her family, and her lifelong commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Above all, she will be remembered for the countless ways she served others and for her way of enriching the lives of those around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 180 S. Coleman, Tooele, Utah, on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A dedicatory prayer will take place at Logan Cemetery on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.
