Jeffrey Knab

–

Tooele, Utah

Jeffrey Albert Knab, 59, passed away at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, May 1, 2026. Jeff will be remembered by many as a fun-loving friend and family member. He had a great love for his father, mother, daughter, siblings and many friends.

Jeff was born in Woodbury, New Jersey, on August 14, 1966, to John Albert and Janice Christensen Knab. He was the youngest of five children. He had fond memories of spending his youngest years in a happy home, where he was a playful child.

Jeff moved with the family within Gloucester County, New Jersey a number of times. When Jeff was a teenager, he moved with his family to Lehi, Utah; then to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jeff came to Mesa, Arizona, to live with his brother, John’s family, for a few years and then moved with them to Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned his Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout award and was an excellent student.

Jeff was a natural athlete and was very competent at playing tennis, racquetball, table tennis and golf. He enjoyed the beautiful Atlanta neighborhoods with their many pine trees, lakes, and streams. He was an accomplished fisherman.

He graduated from high school in Roswell, Georgia, and was accepted to Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. While at college, he met and married Becky Herring. They had a daughter, Chelsea. They moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Jeff and Becky later divorced.

Jeff spent time living in Mt. Vernon, Washington, where his parents and sister, Penny, also lived. He then moved to Kona, Hawaii to live by his sister, Penny, for nine years working as a commercial landscaper on the professional golf courses of the island of Kona. He loved golfing, surfing, the beach and many activities on the island.

He returned from Hawaii to live with his father in Las Vegas to care for him. Jeff was a great caregiver.

He spent the remainder of his life in Las Vegas, living near his sisters, Debbie and Penny, at the time of his passing. He was close to his sisters and also his oldest brother, John.

Jeff was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We want to express our deep appreciation to his church congregation, the West Cliff Ward in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the love and friendship they showed Jeff. He had many friends in this ward and had a great love for them.

Jeff is very loved and will be missed by his friends and family, until we meet again.

Jeff is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Putnam, and his siblings: John Knab, Debbie Bledsoe and Penny Bell. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Albert & Janice Christensen Knab and sibling, Sandra Gae Knab.

There will be a viewing Tuesday, May 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and a funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m., both held at Tate Mortuary, 110 S Main Street, Tooele, UT, 84074.
