Ila Coon Obituary (2012)

Ila Poulsen Coon died peacefully on May 19, 2012, of age related conditions. She was 94 years of age. She was born at home in Magna, Utah on March 6,1918. She was the oldest of nine children born to James Hyrum and Mabel Collings Poulsen. She married Gordon W. Coon on July 2, 1937. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1998. They celebrated 61 years of marriage. She retired from West Elementary School as a "lunch room lady". She is survived by her children: Lynda and Dave Childs, Kevin and Jolynn Coon and Gary and Jeanne Coon. Eight grand Children, 9 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is survived by 1 brother and 3 sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers, 1 sister, daughter and granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at Tate Mortuary on Thursday May 24, 2012 at 11:00AM. Viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 prior to the service.
