David Fairclough

–

Tooele, Utah

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Elrin Fairclough, fondly known as "Farkle", on February 11, 2024. Born on May 19, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah, David was a fixture of joy, laughter, and reliability in the lives of those who knew him. He was a talented man with a knack for making people smile, and he had a unique passion for life that shone through in everything he did. He possessed an irresistible charm and was always ready with a funny quip or a comforting word. David's loving nature endeared him to everyone, and his reliability was a rock upon which many leaned.

David was a proud graduate of West High School in Salt Lake City and went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1958-1962. He later found his calling as a service technician at Hobart Sales in Salt Lake City, where he retired in 2000. His dedication to his work was paralleled only by his passion for his hobbies. An avid shooting sports enthusiast, he excelled in archery, long gun, pistol, and trap, often sharing his love for these disciplines with others at the Tooele Gun Club and Magna Gun Club, where he served on the board of directors. His love for classic cars was well known, and he was a proud member of the Jesters Car Club.

Above all, what mattered most to David was his family. He first married Earlene Hamilton in 1954 and later married Jo Edwards in 1982. David is survived by his wife, Billie Jo Fairclough; his children, Vicki, David (Robyn), Greg (Teresa), and Mike (Britney); and his nine cherished grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Fairclough, and his mother, Irene Jensen.

David's legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a beacon of love, laughter, and reliability, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration. We invite you to leave your memories and upload photos of David on the memorial page as we remember and celebrate his life.
