Danise Christensen Obituary (1949 - 2023)

Danise Williams Christensen January 18, 1949 - February 26, 2023 Danise Williams Christensen, 74, of Tooele, Utah, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023, of natural causes with her devoted husband, Johnny, by her side. She was surrounded by her four children during her final days. Danise was born in Norfolk, Virginia, to Wade and Josephine Williams on January 18, 1949. She grew up with her younger brother, Kenneth, in a loving home. Danise graduated from Great Bridge High School (Chesapeake, Virginia, Class of 1966). She met the love of her life, and future husband, Johnny D. Christensen, at a church function in Norfolk, Virginia. They were married six months later in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (January 18, 1972). Danise was a devoted wife and loving mother of four children and 16 grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Johnny; children, Jared (Elizabeth) Christensen of Durham, North Carolina; Jason (Erin) Christensen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Shantel (Daniel) Park of Riverton, Utah; and Nathan Christensen of Denver, Colorado; and grandchildren: Brock (Bonnie), Layne, Morgan, Paige, Taylor, Riley, Hampton, and Aubrey Christensen; Charlie and Bennett Christensen; Carson (Emma), Ashlyn, Alora, and Elena Park; and Brinley and Gemma Christensen. Danise was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Josephine, and her brother, Kenneth. Danise was a faithful member of her church, having served as a full-time missionary with her husband in the Idaho Boise Mission (military relations) and the Utah Salt Lake Inner City Mission. She and Johnny also served as workers in the Memphis Tennessee, San Diego California, and Boise Idaho temples. She set a wonderful example of love and service for her children, grandchildren, and others. She is forever cherished and will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held at Tooele City Cemetery on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Danise lived many productive years after receiving a kidney transplant for polycystic kidney disease. Her health was never an obstacle as she sought opportunities to serve others.
