Cora O’Nae Murphy, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday July 01, 2024, in Tooele Utah. O’Nae was born on August 29, 1938, in Thayne, Wyoming to Delvin & Veda Passey, sisters Rose and Wanetta, and brothers Arnold and Lynn. She grew up in Star Valley, Wyoming and later married her sweetheart Everett on January 15, 1957, in Paris, Idaho and later solemnized in the Idaho Falls temple. O’Nae and Everett lived in Montpelier, Idaho after they were married, and later moved to Wendover, Utah to raise their family.
O’Nae graduated high school from Afton, Wyoming in 1956.
O’Nae had various jobs, but the ones she loved the most were working at the Wendover Clinic and providing childcare at home. This allowed her to spend time with the local kids and her own children, making a difference in many young lives. In the later years of her life, she ran the local thrift store in Wendover with Frank Sharp and loved being able to help others and spread some joy to those in need.
O’Nae had many passions; some in particular, were serving in many callings for her faith including being a seminary teacher as well as serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
O’Nae had many hobbies and activities that she enjoyed: hunting, fishing, camping, puzzles, reading, dancing, watching Wildcat Basketball coached by her son Kyle, and spending time with her furry friend Chica. This special animal companion helped her through many hard days. O’Nae is survived by son Von (Mary) Murphy of Tooele, Utah, daughter Desiree (Mike) Christensen of Pilot Valley, Nevada, son Kirk (Radine) Murphy of Wendover, Utah, son Lane (Holly) Murphy of Salt Lake City, Utah, son Jared (Layla) Murphy of Wells, Nevada, and son Kyle (Heather) Murphy of Wendover, Utah along with 27 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends that she loved dearly. O’Nae was preceded in death by her husband Everett Murphy, granddaughter Destiny Aleman Murphy, and great-grandson Bentley P Murphy.
