Cottonwood Heights, Utah
Pearl Colleen White Beveridge
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend passed away on May 6, 2025. Colleen was born at home in Tooele, Utah, January 18, 1937, to Samuel Delroy “Dell” White and Ida White. She married the love of her life, Ted “Scott” Beveridge, on February 8, 1958.
Colleen led a life of adventure, always supporting her husband Scott with many career promotions and moves around the country. Moves across Utah, California, Minnesota, Colorado, Pennsylvania (twice), and Illinois (two locations). No matter the location you could always find Colleen sharing a Diet Coke and cream cheese and pretzels with family and friends.
Colleen was immensely proud of her service on the Shiloh School Board in Shiloh, IL. This was an apropos place to serve because of her special love for children. Colleen’s house was always the place where kids showed up for movies and pizza, pre-practice hot rolls, first aid to avoid stitches, and once even housed a hidden wolf dog for a few days while a kid pleaded with his parents to keep it. To both her daughters’ chagrin, old boyfriends would come to the house to visit Colleen.
Colleen’s unwavering faith in her Savior and Heavenly Father was the foundation of her life. Her family often stood in awe of the strength of that sacred connection and the unmistakable answers she received to her prayers. As she journeyed across the country, Colleen faithfully served in many callings within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, particularly in the Primary and Young Women’s organizations. Most of all, she lived her faith through quiet acts of kindness, unconditional friendship, and a heart free of judgment, leaving a lasting example of Christlike love in every life she touched.
Colleen embraced Western Culture, always wearing button-down shirts, bandanas, and jeans in her later years. She was quietly proud of the fact that she had been a Tooele Bit & Spur Rodeo Queen in the ’50s.
Colleen is survived by her four children, Stacey (Jerry) Smith, Greg Beveridge, Chris (Maria) Beveridge, and Heather (Tony) Crites. Colleen is also survived by 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister Marilyn (Larry) Allen, brother Gene (Carolyn)White, and many special nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Scott Beveridge, mother and father, Samuel “Dell” and Ida White, sister, Karen White, and baby brother Kenneth J. White.
A heartfelt thank you to the many loving caregivers at Valencia and Canyon Home Care & Hospice. There were numerous extraordinary caregivers, especially in the final days and hours, who provided dignity, kindness, faith, meditation, and prayers to Colleen and her family.
