Christine Hodge

Christine Rosetta Burgess Hodge was born on October 11, 1943. She died on February 19, 2024. She was the daughter of Gwendel and Anthony Burgess. Mom was born in Hammersmith-London, England and resided most of her life in Utah.

At the age of 18 Mom took flight for Canada where her older brothers lived before making her way to Los Angeles, California where she met our dad, Wayne Hodge. Mom married Wayne in the LDS Los Angeles Temple. Mom and Dad had 5 children: Brett (Marlo), Cameron (Emily), Deveron (Nick), Ember (Tai), and Fae. Raising children in Irvine, California, settled in Sandy, Utah before calling Tooele “home” in the late 90s.

Mom worked for the Salt Lake District Attorney’s office and enjoyed the work a little too much. Mom is best known for her Sunday dinners of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding -it wasn’t Sunday dinner unless a smoke alarm went off, her homemade Halloween costumes, a keeper of secrets, knitted sweaters, and felt Christmas stockings.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband and her mother. Mom is survived by her children, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and her brothers Keith of Midvale and Lyndon of Canada.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the LDS chapel, 132 N 570 E, Tooele, UT with a viewing at 9:30-10:45am and funeral services at 11:00am. Funeral arrangements made through Tate Mortuary in Tooele.
