Bonita Pendley

Bonita Sue Quist Pendley, died peacefully in her home in Erda, Utah on October 1, 2010, following a 10 year fight with cancer. Bonnie was born on November 14, 1947, in Gridley California, the 4 of 8 children to Royal Wilford Quist and Marjorie Smith. She married Martin Smith Pendley on June 15, 1968, in the LDS Oakland California Temple. She graduated from BYU with a Bachelors Degree in Business Education in 1970. Following graduation she and Martin spent 10 years in Latin America, working and serving others as they began their family. They settled in Tooele upon their return, and after all the children began school she started working, mainly part time for the Tooele County Health Department with many years service as the business manager. She lived a life of service and caring for others in all she did and will be deeply mised by those she touched. She was preceded in death by her father Royal Wilford Quist, mother Marjorie Smith, and oldest sister Barbara Jean Quist (Scott). She is survived by her husband of 42 years and children David (and Amy) Pendley of Franklin, TN, Denise (and Christian) Cors of Tulare, CA, Scott Pendley of Havre de Grace, MD, Chad (and Nikki) Pendley of Kaysville, UT, Nathan (and Tamara) Pendley of Tooele, UT, James (and Amanda) Pendley of Oak Ridge, TN, and Suzette (and Sean) Dow of Tooele, UT, and 21 grandchildren who have been and remain her greatest delight. She is also survived by brother in law, Bob (and Judy) Scott of Gridley, CA, and her siblings, Jerry (and Lea) Quist of Gridley, CA, Steve (and Jeanette) Quist of Nampa, ID, Rochelle (and Harvey) Morton, of Tuscon, AZ, Curtis (and Lisa) Quist of Boise, ID, Rene (and Mike) Boelman of Oroville, CA, and Angela (and John) Pearl of Gridley, CA. The family is especially grateful to Darrin Smith, PA, for years of caring support through the health challenges, the Erda Ward Relief Society and many caring and supportive friends. Funeral saervices will take place in the Erda LDS Chapel at 134 East Erda Way in Erda on Friday, October 8, 2010, at 1 pm, with internment following at the Tooele City Cemetery. A viewing at 7:00 the evening before will take place at the Tate mortuary, and again at 11:30 on the day of the funeral at the Erda Chapel.
