Antonia (Gutierrez) Romero Obituary (1934

Antonia Maria Romero died peacefully on March 25, 2016 at the age of 81. She was born April 27, 1934, in Ranchos De Taos, New Mexico to Eduardo Gutierrez and Teresina Martinez. She was a homemaker and mother during her children’s young lives. She was a teacher’s aid in the bilingual program for the Tooele County School District. She worked as a housekeeper at the Tooele Valley Nursing Home for many years after which she retired. She enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with her family. She loved to embroider dish towels and pillow case, make quilts and crochet afghans for all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also loved to venture out for a little gambling in Wendover, Nevada. She is survived by her seven children; Maxine (Jerry) Rosa, Loretta (Bob) Satz, Benito Romero, Floyd Romero, Joyce (Robert) Vigil, Jeffery Romero, and Joseph Romero. She is also survived by her brother, Jesus Gutierrez and sisters: Candida Trujillo, Ida Ortega, Rufina Gutierrez, and many nieces and nephews. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 greatgreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jose Benito Romero, parents Eduardo and Teresina Gutierrez, one grandson and one great grandson, Brothers: Adolfo Gutierrez, Eloy Gutierrez, Eduardo Gutierrez, and sisters Florida Martinez and Cordelia Tremble. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who greatly influenced the lives of anyone who had the opportunity to meet her and she will be forever in our hearts. All services with be held at St. Marguerite's Catholic Church, 15 South 7 Street, Tooele, Utah 84074. Viewing and visitation will be held in her honor on Tuesday March 29 th , 2016 from 6 - 8 PM with the Rosary services at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held Wednesday March 30 th , 2016 from 1011 AM; thereafter, Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM. Interment will be at Tooele City Cemetery.
