Lester Ervin Volberg

Lester Evin Volberg, be1oved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was called to heaven on November 24 2011,after a long and courageous battle with lung disease. Born to goodly parents September 19 1938,the son of Carl Ervin Volberg and Helen Souther Volberg His first few years of school were in Oil Mont, Montana in a one room school house. Graduated from Lignite High School in North Dakota. He left home in Sept.1955 and joined the Navy and earned a Honorable Discharge on September 29,1961. He came to Utah and married Eileen Bell May 4, 1963. Together they were blessed with 3 children, Leslie (Kirk} McManus, Michael (Carolann) Volberg, and Susan (Tim) Petroff, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Siblings 1 Sister, Bernice (Danny) Hyjsulien. Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and 1 brother. He worked in construction and was a brick layer at Mag. Corp for 30 years. He enjoyed being his own mechanic restoring old cars and trucks. He was always smiling with grease on his face and a wrench in his hand. He had much joy in helping his son raise horses. We joined the Tooele Travelers of the Good Sams club in 2003. We made so many special friends there. Les served as President in 2007-2008.  He enjoyed camping and traveling with his good friends of whom he felt very close to. He enjoyed being with his family in anything they did. He taught his children to enjoy life, the respect of others, and do the very best they could in everything they did. Remember the values they were taught, the concern and love he gave, and the sacrifices we all made. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday,  Nov 30, 2011.   Interment in the Grantsville City Cemetery.
