Douglas Ray Watts

Dear husband, father, grandfather & brother passed away Oct 11, 2011 following an extended illness. He was born June 21, 1941 in Ogden, UT son of Wayne D. and Mary Nelsen Watts. Doug grew up & attended schools in Ogden. He married Sharon Schurz in Malad, Idaho on April 13, 1962, they met while they were both working for the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden. Doug worked at Ft Huachuca Army Depot in Arizona, where he received the Meritorius Service Medal, and Tooele Army Depot, retiring in 1993 as Chief of Operations & System Integration Division. He belonged to the Utah Trapshooters Assoc. for many years, along with his oldest son Matthew. He was an avid hunter & fisherman, & his favorite memories were the times spent with his boys, and little dog Riley. He is survived by his wife Sharon, sons Matthew (Terrie) Colorado Springs, Nathan, Tooele, 2 grandsons, Marshall and Nicholas. Step- mother, Evelyn Smith Watts, N. Ogden, brothers Greg (Nancy) West Valley, Jeff (Margie) N. Ogden, Jon (Diana) Clinton, UT, sister Linda, Ogden, and special brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard & Gloria Johnson, Clearfield, Roy & Arlene Holden of Roy, UT and Step-sister Alayne (Brad) Sutherland of N. Ogden. He was preceded in death by his parents. Doug’s family wishes to thank Dr. Trudel & all our friends at Harmony Home Health & Hospice for their wonderful care during his difficult time, and a special loving thanks to our Angel Dee. Doug wished to be cremated and desired and requested no services. “When you come to the edge of the light as you know it, and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing one of two things will happen: there will be something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.”
