Albert Leuthold was born on August 13 1933 in Horgen, Switzerland. 3rd child of Albert Leuthold Sr and Freida Leuthold. Albert left Switzerland in 1955 to join the US Air Force. He was unable to speak or write in English yet, surprisingly passed the ASVAB to join the service. He served a little over 4 years as a meteorologist and left the USAF. While he was working at the local grocery store in California, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting. He began his career as an Accountant at the US Army Civilian, Fort Huchuca, in 1974. During his service with the US government, Albert worked in Italy, Germany, Korea, California, and Panama. After 30 years with the Federal Government, Albert retired at Panama and moved to Las Vegas where he settled in. Albert moved to Dugway since his wife Jin was selected as a DA Intern at Dugway. Albert met his wife Jin in Korea and they were married in 1988. Albert enjoyed riding his motorcycle, skiing, helping friends, watching flowers blooming, sitting on the patio with sunshine on his face, volunteering at the Dugway Chapel. Albert is survived by his wife Jin Leuthold. his two daughters Denice Hornbaker (Columbia TN) and Renee Panagos (Parker CO), four grandchildren Matthew Hornbaker (Virginia Beach. V A), Joshua Hornbaker (Lebanon. TN), Emily and Evan Panagos (Parker, CO). two great-grandchildren Zachary and Kaylah Hornbaker (Virginia Beach, VA), two sisters Lotti Leffler (Winchester VA) and Edith Jesse (Switzerland), and three brothers/sisters-in-law.
