Delma Mary Brande

Posted By on July 27, 2011

Delma Mary Brande returned to her Heavenly Father on July 27, 2011 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  Delma was born on March 20, 1934 in Tooele, Utah, to Raymond Reymonds Brande and Mary Elizabeth Williams Brande.  She lived all her life there and graduated from Tooele High School.  She also attended Utah State College.  She worked as a PBX operator for Interstate Motor Lines.  As a young girl, she was very active in 4-H and won many awards for her sewing. Delma has always been a caregiver, and devoted her life to taking care of her mother and an aunt when they had Alzheimer’s.  She dearly loved her nieces and nephews.  She was always loving to everyone and had hugs and kisses for them.  In October of 2007, Delma fulfilled her last great desire.  She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Delma was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Clifford Raymond Brande and John Dexton (Dick) Brande.  She is survived by a loving sister-in-law, Marjorie Slade, as well as seven nieces and nephews and several cousins.  The family would like to thank Delma’s caregivers at Orchard Cove, North Canyon Care Center and Avalon Care Center in Bountiful for the tender care they gave to Delma.  A viewing and visitation will be held at Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main, Tooele, Utah on Monday, August 1, 2011, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at the Tooele City Cemetery at 11:30.
