Scott Silcox

Scott Lynn Silcox was born the youngest of three children on February 7, 1960 in Salt Lake City to Rex LaVell and Elaine Smith Silcox. He passed away June 5, 2011 at his home in Tooele. Scott attended schools in Tooele and graduated from Tooele Valley High in 1979. After graduating, Scott started his career in construction where he worked the bulk of his adult life working in and specializing in cement work and finishing.

Scott had a great love for his family and his fellow man. He was always helping someone build something or plowing snow from the sidewalks for the neighbors on his street. He loved and taught his family to appreciate the outdoors when took his family hunting and fishing He enjoyed going to mom and dad’s cabin at Bandana Ranch and spent many nights there being outdoors with family and friends around a campfire. Most of the greatest memories of Scott are holding a fishing pole or finding a buck on the side of a mountain.

Scott is survived by his wife of 22 years Lory Yeaman, his father Rex, his brother Randy (Lori) Silcox and his sister Shari (Dave Mayes) Reynolds. He leaves behind his children, Jeremy (Jessica) Silcox, Shellie Silcox Cole, Brian (Sue Danial) Silcox McNicol, Kelly Scott Silcox, Shantel Silcox, Brandon (Jessica Howsden) Yeaman, Holden Yeaman and Marcus (Angela) Coffing. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Maykala, Shalie, Elliya, & Kaius. He is preceded in death by his mother Elaine.

Memorial services will be held Friday June 10, 2011 at Tate Mortuary. The family will receive guests from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 6:00 p.m. During the service, there will be an “Open Microphone” for a few people to share short remembrances of Scott. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers an account has been set up in Scott’s name at Heritage West Credit Union to assist the family.

    I’m so sorry that Scott is not with us. He is going to be one man i will never forget. He was like the big bro that i needed in my life that was always keeping me in line! Scott we love you and please keep an eye on us. We will see ya some day. love your old bro Tommy
