Don Severe Gamble

Don Severe Gamble, age 86, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 13,2011 at his home in Grantsville, Utah with family near. Don was born to Alf and Edith Gamble on March 7, 1925 in Burmester, Utah. He was preceded in death by his son Glade Gamble. He is survived by his eternal companion Evelyn Callister Gamble, daughter Julie Edler, son Larry Gamble, his 3 grandchildren Heather Gamble Bird (Ryan), Zachary Gamble and Jordan Gamble. He also had 2 great- grandchildren, Lucas and Lilly Bird. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Evelyn and Don were married in the Salt Lake Temple March 7, 1947 and were happily married for 63 years. Don served honorably in the United States Navy from 1943-1946. Don and Evelyn homesteaded in Skull Valley and later moved into Grantsville. Don loved spending time outdoors, camping, fishing, cutting wood, and tinkering in the shop on lawnmowers and chain saws. Music was a big part of Don’s early life. He has fond memories of his band that traveled and played all over Tooele County and spoke of it often. Don was a great friend to all that knew him. He will be greatly missed by all. Graveside Services will be Thursday May 19, 2011 at the Grantsville City Cemetery at 2:30 with a visitation prior from 1 to 2 PM at Tate Mortuary 110 S Main, Tooele.
