Clara Frances Hawkins “Franny” loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend peacefully passed away on April 30, 2011 in Tooele, Utah. She was born March 27, 1935 in Lexington, Kentucky to Frank and Clara Mize. She spent her childhood growing up in Kentucky and Ohio. She married LaVar Mikesell in 1955 and five children were born of this marriage; Kathy, Nisha, Clark, Holly and John. In 1977 Fran married Kay Hawkins and became mother of his four children; Sandra, August, Jamie and Lori. Frank and Kay gave us all a wonderful childhood with racing stock cars, camping, water skiing and all night jam sessions around the fire, to name a few. She had a very warm and caring heart and was a friend to all. She enjoyed singing, gardening, picnicking with the kids, painting, the ocean and sandy beaches. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Her beautiful smile, fun spirit and loving and caring personality will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, four brothers, daughter Kathy, son Clark, grandson Jacob, great-grandson Damian, companion Kay and sons-in-law Wil Martinez and Daniel Herrera. She is survived by daughters Nisha Herrera, Holly (Dev) Gibson, Sandra Martinez, Jamie (Greg) Lawless and Lori Weirich and sons John (Karen) Mikesell and August (Adriana) Hawkins, thirty grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. The family expresses deepest gratitude to the staff at Rocky Mountain Care Center for the compassionate care they provided for many years. Funeral services will be held at Tate Mortuary on May 6, 2011 at 11:00AM with visitation prior from 9 to 11 am. Interment will take place at Tooele City Cemetery. In memory of Franny, the “Hawksell” family requests you help a stranger, feed someone who is hungry, blanket someone who is cold or give a word of encouragement to someone who seems lost. If Fran ever helped you in any way, please pay it forward.
