1915-2011

James Hartley Palmer, age 95 of Erda, Utah, was reunited with his eternal sweetheart, daughter, son-in-law, parents, brothers and sisters the morning on February 21, 2011.  We rejoice in knowing that he can once again see all the beauties that surround him. He was born to David E. Palmer and Ethel May Binnall on August 15, 1915 in Grantsville, Utah.  He had four brothers and three sisters.  All of them preceded him in death. He married Katie Evans in the Salt Lake Temple October 31, 1935. She passed away in 1986. He later married Arline Rose in 1987. He has been a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings which included Bishop of the Erda Ward.  He served several missions with his companions.  He served as a Temple Worker in both the Salt Lake and Provo Temples.  He is survived by his children, Ethel (Floyd- deceased) Walters; Gaylen (Marilyn) Palmer; Claron (Lila) Palmer; Lee (Susan) Palmer; Dennis Haines (Laura’s) husband; his wife, Arline; and her children, Jenny (Randy) Huskinson; Ralph (Cheri) Finlinson; Kitt (Elayne) Finlinson; and RoseAnn (Lynn) Clayton.  He was blessed with 28 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren. A special thanks to all who assisted in his care. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 28, in the Erda Ward Chapel, on Erda Way,  A viewing will be held Sunday evening, February 27, from 6-8 p.m. at the Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main Street, Tooele, and Monday morning from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. the church.  Interment will be held at the Grantsville Cemetery.
