Edward DeLon Lacy 1976 ~ 2011
Edward DeLon Lacy, age 34, died unexpectedly in Wendover, Utah on Thursday, February 3, 2011. He was born June 7, 1976 in West Valley, Utah to Earl and Glenda Lacy. He attended elementary school and high school in Wendover, Utah. He graduated from Wendover High School in 1994, where his favorite class was industrial arts and he participated in two world competitions of Odyssey of the Mind Program. He attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah and Great Basin College in Elko, Nevada where he completed his general studies. After attending college, he went to work at Intrepid Potash as a lab technician for fourteen years. DeLon earned the rank of an Eagle Scout in November, 1994 from Troop 140. He had a special mechanical ability to fix anything broken. He had a love for the mountains and whatever the season he exhibited the skills of an avid hunter. He loved to spend time out in nature discovering wildlife and new secret spots in Eastern Nevada. He was always planning another hunting trip with his family and friends. He was considered a friend by many and was always kind and helpful to anyone in need. He always found time to be there for others. He was considered a “Wonderful Uncle” to his nieces, nephews and other children he knew. He loved to spend time with his Grandma Mary watching the Jazz play. He is survived by his parents, Earl and Glenda Lacy, Wendover, Nevada; brother DeJon Lacy and Robin Lacy; nieces Bailey Ann, Ashleigh and nephew, Walker, West Jordan, Utah; Grandparents: Mary Lacy, Wendover, Utah; LaVern and DeLane Mahoney, Condon, Montana, and many loved family members and friends. Preceded in death by grandfather Earl Lacy Jr., grandmother Dorothy Mahoney and other special family members. Funeral services were held February 7, 2011. Interment Needle Point Cemetery in Wendover, Utah. Special thanks to all the volunteers that looked for DeLon in our time of need. Thanks to all of our family members, friends and community for your help and support. We love you DeLon and you will be missed. You will forever be in our hearts.
