Flora Garcia
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Florabelle Griego Garcia on January 21, 2011. Her final days were spent at her home in Stansbury Park, Utah, in the loving care of her family. Flora was born to Elijio Griego Sr. and Mary Perea on June 30, 1946 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Flora’s deeply resilient spirit, her devotion to family and her pride of culture and tradition were deeply rooted in the hardships of her childhood. Flora was blessed with beauty and a humble charm that caught the eye and the heart of a young Rudy Garcia. The two were wed on September 16th 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Flora tirelessly loved and cared for her husband, children and the grandchildren that she adored. She enjoyed camping and fishing, eating out, road trips and watching sports but always in the company of her family. She will be so very deeply missed by all who loved her. Flora was preceded in death by her father, her twin sister, Annabelle Griego, and by her brother Luis Lindahl. She is survived by her Mother; brothers, Pat Sedillo, Elijio “Sonny” Griego Jr., Pete Griego, and Orlando Griego, sisters (spouses) Senida “Sadie” Gurule (Alfred), Gina Steele, Mary Lindahl (Chris), Cathy Cabrera, Jenny Litton (Keith) and Loretta Vasquez (Bobby). Her children, Lisa Garcia, Elena Ramirez (Mario) and Rudy Garcia (Skye), her grandchildren: Leticia and Emilio Garcia, Veronica, Fernando and Yolanda Ramirez and Leo Garcia; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a lifetime of close friends. A Rosary will be held Wednesday, January 26th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM with a funeral Mass held Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 10:00AM both at St. Marguerites Parish in Tooele, Utah.
