Casper (Cas) Charles Zenter passed away peacefully on January 21, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving daughters. Cas was born July 31, 1921 in Salt Lake City to John Casper and Adelaide Amy Dean Zentner. He married his sweetheart, Eleanor (Ellie) Smith, on April 6, 1940. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 14, 1947. They were married for 64 years prior to Ellie’s death in 2004 and lived in Ophir and Tooele. Cas grew up in Clover, Utah, where he attended school and worked on his father’s and Lincoln Stookey’s farms and herded cows for George Jorgenson. He worked in the mines in Ophir, Mercur, Dry Canyon, and Bauer. Later, he laid pipe At Tooele Ordnance Depot when they were building the depot. He later worked for the Government at Tooele Army Depot as a plumber, ammunition worker, dunnage maker, mechanic, care & preservation worker, and preventative maintenance worker from 1950 to 1976 when he retired. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) holding many positions: Priesthood Advisor to Priests, Sunday School Teacher, Stake Missionary, High Priests Group Leader, Elders Quorum President, Ward Mission Leader. One of his Greatest joys was performing temple work for others which he faithfully did along with his wife, as long as his health would allow. He is survived by his daughters: Linda Monsour, Tooele, Carol Moyes, Casa Grande, Arizona, Wendy Puffer, Tooele, Janice (Gary) Allred, Tooele; brothers, Dean (Nellie) Zentner, Tooele, Dave Zentner, South Ogden; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, (Ellie), daughter Eleanor Elaine, father, mother, brother William, sisters Marge and Dot, and grandson Jeremy Allred. The family would like to thank Harmony Hospice, especially, Guy, Jamie, Dee,Patty, Crystal, Barbara, Stacy, Brad, Tom, Coy, and President Ashby and Bevan for their compassionate care. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at the Middle Canyon Ward Church house, 777 Skyline Dr, Tooele, at 1 p.m. Friends may call at the church 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the service. Interment Tooele City Cemetery Well done, thou good and faithful servant…(Matt.25:21) We love you, Dad; rest now, until we meet again.
