Gloria May Towle

Gloria May Towle age 83 died at Cliff View Senior Living, St.George, UT. on December 22, 2010. The cause was multiple organ failure due to end stage cardiomyopathy.
Born June 13, 1927 in Beaver City, NE, to Amos Eli and Clarice Elma Towle, Gloria attended elementary school in Nebraska, and graduated from Vallejo Senior High in 1945 in Vallejo, CA. On April 1, 1946, in Napa, CA she married Lester Langley Snyder and after Lester’s death in 1969 she married Ken Hutzelman in 1972.
She lived in Vallejo, CA and worked at various department stores as a retail clerk, interior designer and buyer. In 1970 she went to college in Alameda and became a Federal Police officer who worked at Alcatraz, Transamerica pyramid, and the Bank of America Center in San Francisco. She traveled the western states training women to protect themselves. In 1978 she retired as an administrative secretary for the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Reno, NV.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Richard Carr; grandchildren, Rebekah Hartman and Matthew Carr; six great-grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Dolores Jean (Jeanie) and Jack Drinville and three nieces. Gloria was preceded in death by husbands, Lester Langley Snyder, Kenneth Hutzelman, and brother, Robert Towle.
Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Beaver City, NE.
