Darwin LeGrand Finch

Tooele- Darwin LeGrand Finch, 68, passed away suddenly, Friday, December 10, 2010, at his home in Tooele. He was born August 3, 1942 in Hayward, California to Edwin D. Finch and Zora A. Finch. He grew up in Tooele and attended Tooele High School before joining the U.S. Navy in 1959. He proudly served in the Navy from 1959 to 1962. Darwin was employed by the U.S. Army where he worked as a sheet metal worker at Tooele Army Depot from 1965 until his retirement in 1993. Darwin was an avid car enthusiast who loved tinkering on his cars. After his
retirement Darwin enjoyed the title of Grandpa and loved his grandchildren very much. Darwin is survived by his wife, Lyla J. Finch (Bowers), his sister Geneva (Ralph) Poulson, his brother William (Starla) Finch. He also leaves behind three sons from his previous marriages: Charles (Heidi) Finch, Robert Finch, and Joseph (Isabell) Finch, 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Darrel E. Finch, Finch, his parents, Edwin and Zora Finch and brother, Thomas Finch. A viewing will he held Wednesday, 15 December from 9-10am for family and 10-11am for friends at Tate Mortuary in Tooele. Interment will be held at Goshen Town Cemetery, Goshen, Utah at 1pm.
