Sandra Kaye Bevan Riddle passed away on Nov. 18, 2010, peacefully in her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 20, 1943 to Marjorie Green Bevan and Marion Deloy Bevan in Tooele at the Davis Maternity Clinic. She grew up in Tooele, and graduated from Tooele High School in 1961. She married E. Keith Hammond in September 1961. Together, they had six wonderful children: Laurie (Tom) O’Riley; Clark Hammond; Stacie Harp; Darren (Desiree) Hammond; Melissa (Dan) Desjardin; and Kevin (Meisha) Hammond. Keith and Sandra later divorced. In 2002, Sandra married Trenton (Dee) Riddle, a marriage which brought her two step-children: Michael (Leanne) and Deanna Riddle. She is survived by 26 grandchildren and 1 1/2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Susan (Robert) Carson, brothers Steve (Jolynn) Bevan, and Scott (Diane) Bevan, and by several nieces and nephews. Sandra raised her family in Huntington Beach, Calif. She worked for the Westminster School District in the lunch program and then for Homedco and Apria Healthcare. She also has fond memories and interesting stories from her years operating a catering business with her dear friends Billie and Joanne. She was an active member of the LDS church and served in a variety of callings. She also had been an avid quilter and loved to make crafts. Her crafts, quilts, loving gifts, and countless acts of service touched the hearts of many. She moved back to Tooele in 1995. She received her greatest joy working at Beehive Homes for 11 years. She loved to cook and make special treats for the residents there, and loved being their tender caretaker. She became fast friends with the residents, their families, and her co-workers. Above all, Sandra loved Dee, her children, step-children, brothers and sister, all of her grandchildren and extended family and friends very much. Memorial services were held Monday, Nov. 22 at the Overlake 3rd Ward building in Tooele. Interment at the Tooele City Cemetery.

I worked with Sandra at Beehive Homes and I thought of her as my subsitute mother. She was a wonderful caring woman. I moved away in 2003 and had kept in contact with her off and on. My deepest sympathy goes to her family. I know we will see her again for she is in Heaven looking down on us all with her bright eyes and loving smile.
