Richard S. Riding 1930-2010
Richard was born on May 16, 1930 in Stockton, UT, the son of Edwin T. and Mary Shelton Riding. He died at his home in Stockton on July 20, 2010. He married his lifelong friend and sweetheart, Florence Anna Kading on September 9, 1949. They attended the Stockton Grade School, the Tooele Jr. High School, and graduated from Tooele High School in 1948 and 1949. They enjoyed 56 years of companionship before Florence passed away on September 2003. In 1953, they built their home in Stockton from the ground up with very little outside help. Richard and Florence were blessed with three wonderful children Lori (Larry) Hayes, parents of Darcy and Michael, Clay (Leanne Carlson) Riding, parents of Ashlee, Michelle and Stephanie, and Kari (Mohsen) Ghaffari, parents of Alex. 13 great grandchildren also survive Richard. Richard worked at Tooele Army Depot for 37 years as a heavy equipment mechanic, millwright, machinist, millwright foreman, electrical foreman at CAMDS and Control Room Dayshift Supervisor at CAMDS. He retired in May 1985. He also ran a small drywall business. Richard was a wonderful loving father, always putting his family first. He was a great provider and his family never wanted for anything because of his hard work. At Richard’s request, there will be no funeral services. He will be cremated and buried next to his sweetheart in the Tooele City Cemetery. Rest In Peace Dad, we love you and will miss you.

Dear Kari,
Please accept our sincere condolences. You have absolutely wonderful parents!! They were always kind to me while growing up. I wanted so much to tell you in person but I see there will be no services for your father. We will keep you in our prayers.
