Lawrence “Chauncey” Bear, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and returned home to our Heavenly Father Monday, June 14, 2010. Lawrence was born August 13, 1934 in Ibapah, Utah to John Bear and Vida Johnson. He married his sweetheart Evanelle Nick September 2, 1960 in Elko, NV. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo Temple May 12, 1973. He was known and well respected as a hard worker throughout his life and throughout his 45 year career with the Utah Department of Transportation. He was loved by many, and cared for and loved those around him unconditionally. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his greatest joy was his family and grandchildren. Chauncey lived a full, wonderful, active life doing the things he loved most and will be remembered fondly and missed dearly. Lawrence is survived by his wife Eve and six children, Lori, Jonathon, Tad, Matt, Mignon and Kristen; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kevin, Cody, Zachary, Tyrell, Katie, Jonathon, Morgan, Alexa and Jacob; and one great-grandchild, Cameron. A viewing for friends and family will be held Wednesday, June 16th from 6-8 p.m. at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main Street, Tooele, Utah. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-Deseret Peak Ward, 550 East Durfee Street, Grantsville Utah. Another viewing will also be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral services. Interment will follow at the Grantsville City Cemetery, 380 W. Main Street, Grantsville.
