Jemma Marie Gualtieri Johnson
Jemma Gualtieri Johnson, 88, passed away Sunday June 6, 2010, at Rocky Mountain Care Center. Jemma was born in Agnone, Italy July 2, 1921 to Emidio and Maria Giuseppina Gualtieri. She came to the United States in 1926 when she was five years old. She came through the Port of New York with her mother and sister Elna. They spent two weeks on Ellis Island before coming to Tooele to join her father. She attended school in Tooele and was graduated from Tooele High School. Jemma married Robert 0. Johnson May 31,1947. They made their home in Grantsville, owning and operating Bob’s Garage. Bob preceded her in death in 1963. She was a member of St. Marguerites Catholic Church. She was most happy when taking care of her family and spending time with family. She was known as a great cook, always preparing special dishes and dinners. Jemma is survived by sons Bob (Colleen), Joseph (Debbie) Johnson. Grandsons Bryan, Wade, Landon and Dylan Johnson. Great grandsons Russell, Brandon and Parker Johnson, and great granddaughter Lucy Johnson. Sister Millie Denney and brother Angelo Gualtieri. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Madeline, Jean, Elna and Ilda. A viewing and Rosary will be held Tuesday June 8, 2010. Viewing 6:00 pm, Rosary 7:00 pm at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St., Tooele, Utah. Also, a viewing June 9, 2010 prior to the services from 9:30am to 10:30 am. Funeral services will be Wednesday June 9, 2010, 11 :00 am at Tate Mortuary. Interment Tooele City Cemetery. A very special thanks to Rocky Mountain Care Center and staff.
