Leonard C. GinterLeonard C. Ginter passed away May 18,2010 at Mountain West Medical Center in Tooele, Utah. Leonard was born August 15,1919 to Oliver Ginter and Margaret Jane Brown in St. Mary’s, Ohio. He married Louise Zelpha De’Rose who passed away on December 15, 2001. Their children are Margie Mallet, Etta (Barrett) (deceased), Lennie (Lisa), Fred; and Clifford (died in infancy). Father also to JoAnn Meli (Dixon), Esther Meli (Mills), and Mickey Meli (Trujillo). He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Leonard was a WWII Veteran. He received the purple Heart, two bronze stars (battles in Northern Solomons and India-Burma), American Defense Service Metal, The Presidential Citation (for Burma), Combat Infantryman Badge, and a good conduct ribbon, were among many of his awards. He was proud to be an American. He had a great sense of humor and liked to tell jokes. We will miss him dearly.

What a sweet man he was! I will miss playing checkers with him and him moving pieces off while I wasn’t looking, and his cute smile… :[ Thanks Lenny for all your stories and your sense of humor.
