Donald H. Talmadge, 83 beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 18,2010 surrounded by his family. Don was born January 10, 1927 to Amy Bunn and Lawrence Talmadge in Kimberly Idaho. He was the youngest of four children. He moved to Tooele as a young boy and graduated from Tooele High School in 1945. He served in the US Coast Guard during World War II. On January lst, 1947, he married his lifelong companion and eternal sweetheart, Donna Nix, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised 2 daughters. Don was a hard worker and loved being outdoors. He worked for Kennecott Copper for many years and was also a farmer and rancher. He loved working on the farm and in his garden. He held the office of President of the Settlement Canyon Irrigation Company for several years and was a member of the Grantsville Grazing Association. Don took the responsibility ofPatriarch of his family very serious. He loved being with his family and enjoyed playing with his grandkids. One of his greatest joys in life was watching his grandchildren play sports. He had a great sense of humor and could always make you smile. He was a friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed. We love you Grandpa T. He is survived by his wife Donna, Daughters Janice (Bruce) Clegg, and Marilyn (Don) Bryant, 10 Grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Harmony Home Health and the wonderful staff of both Intermountain Medical Center and Mountain West Medical Center for the excellent care and service they provided. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 22, 2010 at 11:00AM in the Tooele 7th Ward 1025 West Utah Ave. A viewing will be held on Friday May 21st from 6-8 PM at Tate Mortuary and 9:30-10:45 prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment in the Tooele City Cemetery
