Marvin Bernard Matravers passed away peacefully on Apri1 23, 2010 in Tooele, Utah. Marvin was born on May 3, 1914 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Harvey Elmon Matravers and Jorgine Dorothea Johnson. He was the first of two children born in the small family. He married his constant companion and eternal sweetheart, Carol Margaret Evershed on August 3, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. They were later sealed in the Washington D.C. Temple on Apri1 21, 1978. Together, they were the proud parents of three children: Gary (Dianne) Matravers of Tooele, Robert (Peggy) Matravers of Las Vegas, and Carol Lynn (Wayne) Durrant of Salem, Utah.

Marvin spent his growing up years in Chicago, Illinois. After his marriage to Carol, he moved his family to the Chicago suburbs and there raised his family. His later years were spent in St. George, Utah where he was active in the senior citizen education program associated with Dixie State College. Marvin was a member of the LDS Church and served in various callings. He was honored and blessed to serve alongside Carol as full-time Temple workers in both the Washington D.C. and St. George Temples. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving spouse, and brother Phillip.  He is survived by his children, 19 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. He is most assuredly missed. A viewing was held Tuesday, April 27 at the Tate Mortuary in Tooele, Utah. Interment followed in the Manti City Cemetery Manti, Utah.
