Gloria Jean Nielson Barney
December 2, 1949 – March 18, 2010
Our loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend to many, Gloria J. Barney returned to our Heavenly Father unexpectedly after a short illness on Thursday March 18, 2010. Gloria was born in American Fork, Utah to Howard and Naomi (Turner) Neilson. She married Lathel Barney on July 30, 1965 in Lehi, Utah. They were blessed with four children, Clay, Danny, Tonya and Cody. Later they were given the opportunity to adopt two beautiful girls Kylee and Tralynn. Gloria was raised in Lehi, Utah and later moved to Grantsville where she was involved with the Grantsville EMT service and Grantsville Youth Baseball. She loved sports and spending time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her kind loving spirit. She leaves us with many wonderful memories. She is survived by her husband Lathel, children Clay (Michelle) Barney of Grantsville, Utah, Danny (Wendy) Barney of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Tonya (Troy) Wall, Cody (Stacy) Barney of Washington, Utah, Kylee and Tralynn Barney. Thirteen grandchildren (Lisa Jo, Dalton, Amber, Jordan, Austin, Brooks, Braxton, Bridger, Bryson, Brady, Brakell, Shaylee and Briggs) two great grandchildren (Landon and Tallon). Sisters, Terri, Julie, Jodi, Traci, one brother Johnny along with many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Sister Marla, nephew Bobby and niece Katie. A viewing will be held at Tate Mortuary on Wednesday March 24, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Grantsville 3rd Ward Chapel, 428 S. Hale Street in Grantsville on Thursday March 25th at 11:00am. Viewing to be held one hour prior to services at the church.
