Linda R. Hammond

Linda R. Hammond passed away Feb. 9, 2010 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 27, 1941 to Thomas and Mary June Rydalch, and raised in Grantsville. She married Lloyd G. Hammond in 1962. They enjoyed 44 years together before his death in 2006. Linda loved life, being a a mother and a grandma. She always enjoyed the companionship of her dogs, which she called her “kids,” Lacey and Molly. Linda is survived by her daughter Brenda (Mike) Nelson, and two sons Larry (LeAnn) Hammond and Kerry Hammond. She was blessed with grandsons: Brandon (Erin) Bender, Shawn Hammond and Brett Hammond. She is also survived by brothers Ron (Gesele) Rydalch and Tom Rydalch, sisters Joan Isi and Julyn Smith. She also had many nieces and nephews who loved her. She is preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, sons Dusty R. Hammond and Troy G. Hammond, brother Ricky Rydalch and sister Emma Jean Macari. Viewing will be held Friday, Feb. 12, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tate Mortuary. Graveside services will follow the viewing at 1 p.m., Tooele City Cemetery, under the direction of Tate Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made to help cover funeral expenses.
