Marguerite (Dete) Ella Weyland passed away 24 May 2009 at home. She was born to Wilburn Riley Lay and Nora Sebree Lay, 10 April 1923 in Torrington, Wyoming. She married Bennett Michael Weyland 7 December 1946, and was sealed in the Jordan River Temple 7 August 1998. Mom loved her family and we loved her. She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary, and made those days special for us. She enjoyed being active, spending many years bowling 1951 to 1982 (Utah state champion 1964), square dancing, traveling, volunteering as a Cub Scout Den mother, and various church callings. She is survived by a brother, Riley Lay, sons Jay (Vickie) Weyland, and Robert (Bobbi) Weyland, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, a sister Edith and her husband Bennett. The funeral will be held at 2 PM Thursday, 28 May, at Tate Mortuary. A viewing will be held one hour before the services.
