Ernest A. Paulos
1919 – 2009
Ernest A. Paulos was the second of five sons born to Greek immigrants, Charlie and Anna Ramos Paulos. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Dec. 12, 1919 and resided in Tooele, Utah. He graduated from Tooele High School and was the fullback on the Tooele High School football team. That team traveled to Hawaii where they played in the championship game. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the South PacifiC as a Master Sergeant mechanic in the tank corps. He was awarded numerous medals and decorations for his service. Ernest married Helen Makris and had two sons, Theodore and Charlie. He was co-owner of Paulos Motor car dealership in Tooele for many years and was a successful businessman. Ernest had a good life, traveled extensively, provided for his family. He gave his children many opportunities, which included their education. His children enjoyed many wonderful experiences and benefits because of his devotion to them. After the death of his wife Helen in 1988 he enjoyed being a loving grandfather to his grandchildren. Ernest passed away at the Utah State Veterans Nursing home on May 17, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, and son Theodore. He is survived by his son Charlie and daughter-in-law Chrissy, their children Renna, Stauss and Helena. The family would like to express how dearly loved Ernie was and he will be sorely missed. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St. in Tooele, Utah. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service with Trisagion at 10:30 a.m. Interment Tooele City Cemetery. Donations can be mode to either Greek Orthodox Church in Salt Lake City, Utah.
