1983 – 2009

Jason M. Klinkenberg (Klink) and his beloved wife Crystal L. Klinkenberg passed away February 20, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV.  Jason was born on June 16, 1983 in Richmond, KY and Crystal was born February 18, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV.  Jason attended and graduated from Dugway High School, Utah in 2002.  He volunteered to selflessly serve our country by joining the United States Air Force in October 2002.  While stationed at Nellis Air Force Base, NV, his squadron was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from September 2005 to February 2006.  Jason courageously endured many dangerous convoys with his transportation unit Detachment 2632 while based at LSA Anaconda, Balad, Iraq.  In recognition of his sacrifice to our grateful nation and his impact of bringing freedom to the people of Iraq, Jason was meritoriously awarded the Army Achievement Medal. Like many young soldiers returning from Iraq, Jason suffered from Post-traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD). Upon his return to Nellis Air Force Base, Jason met the love of his life and married Crystal on July 13, 2007.  Ever so brief as their time on Earth was together, they enjoyed each others company especially during activities like boating, snowboarding and spending time with family.  Jason was extremely fond of the time spent with his four nephews who lovingly referred to him as Uncle “Bubba”.  Jason and Crystal will be greatly missed by many and will remain in our hearts forever.  Jason is survived by his parents Arthur and Monette Klinkenberg III, brother Arthur Klinkenberg IV (Rhonda), sister Amanda Harrod (Larry), his four nephews Cameron, Collin, and Carter Harrod and Arthur Klinkenberg V, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.  In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of SRA Jason M. Klinkenberg at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.  Services will be held Sunday 6:00pm and visitation with family from 4:00pm – 6:00pm, March 1 2009 at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St.  Tooele, UT.
